A one-year U.S. stop between the 240Z and 280Z. Displacement grew to 2.6 liters, and the 2+2 body arrived for people who needed the extra pair of seats.
Emissions and insurance were already squeezing sports cars. Nissan answered with more cubes and an optional longer-wheelbase 2+2. In America the 260Z badge lasted only the 1974 model year before the 280Z took over.
